The Teaching & Mentoring Summer Residency:

Are you an educator, college student, graduate, or emerging professional with a deep commitment to community impact and a passion for working with scholars?

Consider a transformational summer experience as a Math N' More Teaching Residency, inspiring and educating rising Kindergarten  – 9th grade scholars during a dynamic nine (9) week hand on summer program. Participants receive a stipend, an initial week long professional development, and an entire summer of fun, rooted in equitable teaching practices!

Who is eligible to apply?

We are seeking driven, mission aligned individuals at every stage of their journey, experienced educators, current undergraduate students, and graduates from all major. Whether you are actively pursuing a career in education, exploring the field for the first time, or simply passionate about making an impact, Math N' More Summer Academy is for you. 

No prior education coursework is required, just commitment, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to support scholars in achieving mathematical excellence by helping to debunking the myth of "I'm not a math person"! 

Teaching fellows must be committed to the entire 9 week summer experience, and they must be committed to personal growth and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

 

We encourage undergraduate applicants from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Stipend:
$7,000 - Certified Educator 
$6,000 - Pending Certification ​

Program Overview

The Math N’ More Teaching Mentoring Summer Residency prepares aspiring educators and math leaders to confidently teach, mentor, and support students in engaging learning environments.

 

Through hands-on practice, coaching, and real classroom experience, apprentices build the skills needed to lead instruction, foster student confidence, and create meaningful math learning moments that last.

Program Outcomes

Participants of The Math N' More Teaching Mentoring Summer Residency will:​

  • Develop Foundational Teaching Skills

    • Gain meaningful experience in lesson design, instructional delivery, and learning assessment to confidently support diverse learners.

  • Grow as Reflective Practitioners

    • Engage in ongoing feedback cycles that promote reflective teaching practice and continuous improvement.

  • Build Leadership and Communication Ability

    • Strengthen skills in public speaking, collaboration, and relationship-building with learners, peers, and coaching mentors.

  • Demonstrate Positive Impact on Learners

    • Use research-informed strategies to help students deepen their math understanding, boost confidence, and exceed achievement goals.

  • Strengthen Career Readiness

    • Acquire practical experience and professional competencies that support future careers in education, tutoring, coaching, or other learner-focused roles.

  • Expand Professional Networks

    • Connect with a community of educators, mentors, and peers committed to excellence in math instruction and learner support.
